You likely don’t pay much attention to your home’s water heater. But it’s a workhorse in your home. The average American household uses about 65 gallons of hot water a day for baths, showers, dishwashers, laundry, cleaning, cooking, and other tasks.

Did you know that water heating accounts for around 20% of your home’s energy usage?
If your water heater is more than 10 years old, replacing it with today’s energy-efficient water heaters will have you saving on your energy costs from the day Anyzek installs it!
One reason you may need to upgrade to a new water heater is age. Once your water heater reaches 10 years old, it will have reduced efficiency and performance. If you don’t know how old your water heater is, look at the manufacturer’s sticker on your water heater and find the serial number. The first letter in it corresponds to its month of production. The first two numbers are the year it was made. So, if the serial number on your water heater is C112738598, the “C” is the third number in the alphabet and corresponds to March, the third month. The “11” stands for the year. Thus, the water heater was manufactured in March, 2011.
If you are seeing wet spots on the floor around your water heater, that’s a warning sign. The likely reason is a leak in your tank. Another warning you should heed is if the hot water in your home is rusty. It means your water heater tank is corroding. Replace your water heater before a tank failure leads to damage, hassle and added expense.
